Actress Roseanne Barr reacted to reports that the political humor on her ABC sitcom would be dialed back, assuring fans on Twitter that the second season would be “even braver,” The Daily Caller noted.
don’t worry, #Roseanne show fans-next season will be even braver/funnier/timely than this season, despite what anyone mistakenly says.

ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey told reporters Tuesday that the “Roseanne” reboot, which turned out to be the network’s biggest hit of the 2017-18 season, will likely be less political next season, Deadline reported. “Roseanne’s” main character, played by Roseanne Barr, is a supporter of President Donald Trump, much like Barr is in real life.
“I think that they’re going to stay on the path that they were on toward the end of last season, which is away from politics and toward family,” Dungey told reporters about her expectation for “Roseanne” in Season 2, according to The Wrap.
“I think that one of the things that was fresh for us with ‘Roseanne’ on the air is that it is focusing a family that is in a different economic status than some of the other family comedies that are on the air,” Dungey said, concluding that at ABC’s goal is to be “as diverse and as inclusive as possible … across all metrics.”
Dungey said she had no regrets losing Tim Allen’s “Last Man Standing,” another show favored among conservatives, to Fox after it was cancelled by ABC, The Wrap said. Fox announced this week that “Last Man Standing” will debut there in the fall for its seventh season on Friday nights.
“The decisions that we made last year in terms of canceling ‘Last Man Standing’ were made with the best information that we had at the time,” Dungey said in a conference call with reporters, The Wrap reported.
The reported step away from political humor on “Roseanne” brought a stinging rebuke on social media, led by The Drudge Report.

She needs to Follow Tim Allen. I guess ABC doesn’t need the money for ratings.

But Jimmy Kimmel is allowed to bash President Trump all he wants to. No “dial back” for Kimmel. Pathetic 😡
